PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Happy New year to you all. If you
missed our Annual Banquet, you missed a good time. We had a great time and had
plenty of good food this year. Thanks to Kevin and his helpers. Nice trophies
again. Congratulations to all who got a trophy - especially our Junior Members.
We had a pretty fair year in 2007. We managed to meet our budget again. Thanks
to all of you again for your continued support. We need you again. We owe a big
thank you to Vietri Electric Inc. for replacing our electric terminal pole
(Thanks, Greg). Also, if you go up the driveway at the club you will also notice
the new gate (thanks to the Barber Family), and our new flag pole (thanks to
Terry Thompson and Bruce Rutledge).
Nite at the races - Buy a horse and bring a friend.
Fish Program - Sponsor a fish or two - help with stocking (Mar. 22), and
Handicapped Fishing Day at Hibernia (Kid's Pond) May 14.
We had a nice Valentine's Dance February 9. The next dance will be Halloween -
watch for date.
Did you congratulate our newest "Mary Nagy Award" winner? Terry Thompson, a
great guy.
We wish our newest committee, "Women In The Wild" the best of luck, and we
support you.
We try our best to keep everyone happy and well informed - bring your thoughts
to a meeting.
Safe Fishing and Hunting - I'll hope to see you in the Turkey Woods.

FISH REPORT
Trout season is fast approaching
and our Trout Sponsor Program is now underway again. Your support is greatly
needed to make this program a success for the community and the Sportsmen's
Club. We will keep the sponsorship the same as last year, $5.00 regular trout,
$15.00 super trout and $20.00 prize trout for Kids Pond. There is a sponsorship
coupon in the newsletter you received. Please take some time to fill it out and
send it back with your support. If you would like more info please contact the
fish chairman, Matt DeAngelo or co-chairman Gary Rutledge 610-857-2832.
The West Cain Sportsmen's Club has
been conducting a trout program at Hibernia Park since 1970. Every Spring the
members have stocked the west branch of the Brandywine Creek and the Children's
Pond in the park, with an estimated 5,000 - 7,000 trout for the fishing season.
Included in the stocking of the Children's Pond, which is to be fished by
children only, are certain trophy-sized trout tagged with a number that
corresponds to a particular prize for the proud child who makes the catch.
The trout program is partially offset each year through individual and business
trout sponsorships. The sponsor's name is listed on a large color poster made
specifically for the season. Our club would greatly appreciate any support your
business could extend toward the Trout Sponsoring Program. A prize along with a
donation would go a long way to support it's continued success. We would like to
thank you in advance for adding to an event that has become such an important
tradition to so many in the West Cain/Hibernia Community.
The following is a list of the program's dates:
TROUT STOCKING - MARCH 22,2008 - 6:00 A.M.
West Branch of the Brandywine
HANDICAPPED DAY - MAY 14,2008 - 9:00 - 5:00 P.M.
HIBERNIA "KID'S POND"
BASS TOURNAMENT - JULY 26, 2008

Volunteers, fishing rods and donated prizes would be greatly appreciated for the
Handicapped Fishing Day. Again, the West Cain Sportsmen's Club and all those who
look forward to this program each year, thank you for your support.
DUES ALERT!
Your 2007 dues are now past due. There are some who have not paid. It would help
the club's finances very much if those members paid up to date. Check your dues
card or contact Jack Thompson, Membership Secretary at 61 00384-8435 for
information on the status of your dues. The club relies on dues for a large
